This will be a short talk about the philosophical basis of choosing mathematics, as a researcher, as a student, and as a teacher as well. It will reveal the way of presenting it to students. The contents necessary at various levels will also be discussed.

Tudor Zamfirescu，男，罗马尼亚科学院院士、德国多特蒙德工业大学终身教授，曾任教于美国加州大学洛杉矶分校。
Tudor Zamfiresce院士是国际知名数学家，在离散与组合几何、凸几何、图论和非线性分析等多个领域都曾取得过杰出成就，在国际同行中享有盛誉。Tudor Zamfirescu教授先后26次得到DAAD、JSPS、DFG、EU等的资助，在Inventiones Mathematicae、Advances in Mathematics、Mathematische Annalen等国际顶尖数学期刊发表论文200余篇。
