讲座内容：

In this talk, we recall the nature of roots of a real polynomial with degree no more than four and give the nature of roots of a real polynomial with degree five. We present (simpler) necessary and sufficient conditions for a real polynomial with degree four to be positive, when the variable is positive. At the end, we apply the positivity conditions for quartic polynomials to give a class of new real division algebras.
